Our wooden raised garden beds are made of the highest quality natural timbers available, Cypress and Red gum. Both of these timbers are actually “class 1” timbers that mean they are the most durable timbers you can get. Cedar only makes it to "class 2" that why we don't use it.
For peace of mind all the wood we use in the wooden raised garden beds is sustainably grown and all sourced in Australia. Although we don’t recommend treated pine there are some “safer” treated timbers available such as ACQ (ACQ is not supposed to contain arsenic). We don’t use CCA treated pine and we don’t recommend anyone use CCA for food production in anyway. The arsenic and other heavy metals are absorbed through the roots and are stored in the food.

Wicking beds
We now stock wicking bed boxes, these are a great alternative to high drainage sand. Garden beds require less fill and can hold more water, lasting longer between the hot weeks in the peak of summer.
